In this project, I will carry out long-term monitoring of the macroinvertebrate community of the Itaparica Lagoon and its associated water bodies. The aim is to produce ecological quality indices for these environments, providing crucial information for the management of the conservation unit and for decision-makers regarding the management of these environments.
The development of monitoring will also contribute to the local community by allowing the formation of human capital through parallel citizen science and scientific initiation projects, as well as the creation of a biological collection at the project's host institution.
