Our project focuses on the conservation of Geobatrachus walkeri in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, a global biodiversity hotspot. We will conduct population monitoring, acoustic surveys, and habitat assessments while engaging local communities through education and conservation agreements.
Key actions include evaluating the impact of Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis, mapping the species' distribution, and implementing participatory land-use assessments. Scientific publications and outreach efforts will enhance awareness and knowledge. Long-term sustainability is ensured through partnerships, ex-situ conservation strategies, and continued monitoring. This initiative integrates research and community involvement to safeguard G. walkeri and its fragile ecosystem.
