Proposing management guidelines for sub tropical Montane Forests to assure the long term conservation of cavity nesters

None

The major goal of this project is to investigate the impact of forest ecosystem management and loss on cavity-nesters along an altitudinal gradient through the subtropical montane cloud forest of North-western Argentina (Yungas). Yungas forests are being lost at an alarming rate.

None

The project will focus on cavity-nesting birds, a group that is especially likely to be sensitive to forest changes. This work will allow us to meet our ultimate goal, proposing management guidelines that will allow to develop a sustainable timber harvesting by local people and industries. These management guidelines will be provided to governmental and non-governmental agencies.
