Health Assessments in Sea Turtles from Baja California Sur (BCS)

1/Generate the information (baseline) about sea turtles health status and presence of diseases in Bahía de La Paz BCS.

2/Help sea turtle and ecosystem conservation.

3/Generate information about the presence of diseases and etiological agents to gives us the reference about the impact of this related to public health.

4/Complement and develop the monitoring programs with the aim of creating preventive measures of conservation in BCS.

In BCS exists five species of sea turtles, which are exposed to anthropogenic and environmental factors which may cause disease and death. Sea turtles health status have been little studied and may be supplemented by the use of Veterinary techniques. For this, turtles will be captured by nets and rodeo, a specific examination will made, samples will be taken to be evaluated by Veterinary techniques to identify the presence of possible infectious diseases.
