None

The project studies the causes of rhinos migrating outside the protected area of Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, Assam. The poachers take advantage by poaching them outside the protected areas. In past 10 years, 22 rhinos were killed by poachers outside the sanctuary. This team will reveal the cause and try to offer solutions to this problem for the forestry department responsible for conservation and protection of the species. The cause of straying out by rhino may be various ecological shortcomings. In addition, a mass awareness campaign supported by the educational materials will be distributed among the villagers around the sanctuary to garner support towards protection of rhinos from poachers.
