The project will work with local communities to determine the lifecycle of the cave swiftlets in selected caves and compare the use of gated caves to protect the species from unauthorized nest collection.

Once the life cycle is known, a general management plan will be formulated with local residents to sustainably harvest the nests while protecting the species and the caves.

The plan will then be incorporated into the general management plan for Rajah Sikatuna Protected Landscape and other karst areas on Bohol and eventually added to the Bohol Environment Code.
