Rehabilitation of one of the most important biodiversity refuges and the conservation of the unique population of Dusky Large Blue Butterfly in Romania

The overall aim of the project is to rescue and preserve one of the most biodiversity rich Natural Reserves from Romania: Fânatele Clujului – “Copârsaie” and “La Craiu”. Alongside the preservation of these small natural protected perimeters, the team proposes an additional area designed for conservation of the unique population of the Dusky Large Blue Butterfly (Maculinea nausithous).

For the new assembly of these natural sites, a network of ecological corridors will be established in order to transform the area into a biodiversity reservoir. The entire complex will be proposed for the inclusion within the National Network of Protected Areas.
