Conservation of wild flora bears great significance in Baljuvon and Shurobod districts taking into account the speed of disappearing of rare and endangered plant species which were included in the Red Book of Tajikistan even during former Soviet Union. More than 20 years past since then and it is certain that the list of wild plants that should be entered into Red Book of Tajikistan has been increased. The other concern is that some rare plant species may disappear at all in the process of coming 10 years, if appropriate measures not be taken for protection and conservation of them.

In the above mentioned districts rural inhabitants, particularly youth are responsible for gathering herbs and wild fruits who are not qualified in correct collection of plants. As a result, the wild plants experiencing serious damage or totally disappear. During spring and autumn seasons people sell the gathered herbs in local markets. For that purpose it is very important to involve communities, especially young generation in this project.
