This project focuses on assessing, identifying, and conserving macro-fungal biodiversity in Shangla, Battagram, and Mansehra along the northern CPEC route.

It will document fungal diversity, identify rare species & hotspots, and restore endangered fungi habitats by reforesting symbiotic trees & dispersing fungal inoculum. Specimens will be preserved in local and international herbaria. Local communities will be engaged through trainings, seminars and awareness campaigns. Workshops, educational materials, and conservation boards will emphasize macrofungi's ecological and economic value. The project aims to ensure sustainable biodiversity conservation in the target areas by combining scientific research and community involvement.
