Expert Guidance on Applying for Small Grants

Expert Guidance on Applying for Small Grants image

The Rufford Foundation has partnered with a group of like-minded donors on a new webinar series offering practical guidance for individuals and organisations applying for small grants. Working alongside Conservation Connect, the Prince Bernhard Nature Fund, the Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP), People’s Trust for Endangered Species (PTES), Whitley Fund for Nature, the ZSL EDGE Programme and the Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund, the series draws on a wealth of collective experience in small-grant funding.

Each webinar features two short presentations followed by an interactive Q&A session, providing attendees with direct insights from donors themselves.

The first webinar featured Anne Alexandre from Conservation Connect sharing her insights on what to do once a grant has been awarded, alongside Karla Hernandez-Aguilar from CLP, who explored how applicants can respond constructively to rejection. Future sessions will cover a range of additional topics related to small-grant funding.

Simon Mickleburgh, Grants Manager at The Rufford Foundation, explains: “This group has an immense pool of experience in awarding small grants and is keen to share that knowledge to help others strengthen their applications. The webinar series focuses on topics that are rarely discussed, but are essential for success.

You can watch the two recordings of the webinars here: morning session; afternoon session.
