The presented project aims investigate biological data, sanitary health information and assess the impacts of invasive species on the mabuya population. With its realisation, the population dynamics, reproductive biology, quantity and number of offspring, reproduction seasonality, health parameters, epidemiological information, transmission of diseases and parasites, determination of their predators and especially the impact of invasive species on the population of Trachylepis atlantica will be determined. In collaboration with the managers of the national park, governmental authorities, the local community and researchers, the ultimate goal of the present project is to produce and suggest management plans for the conservation of this important and unique species. Considering this and the fact that this endemic species presents an extremely small occurrence area, there is a great importance of placing it in the red list of threatened animals.
