Philippines is one of the mega diverse countries in the world and because of this many researchers especially from foreign countries are encourage doing research in the country. Some of local researchers and local villagers are tapped as research aids or local guides. After the research activity, specimens are brought to foreign lands and the partnership is gone. The very reason why I am proposing this project is to strengthen the research and conservation initiatives in the Philippines especially from our own locality (Davao Region) by providing space for local researchers and local experts to work together towards conservation of our own local species.

It is our vision that we could have a research center provided with necessary equipment and deposition area where we could study our specimens, advance biodiversity research in Mindanao, and share our data to local communities. I believed that having the research and conservation center, we can, and somebody will continue our research and conservation initiatives especially in Mindanao Philippines.
