In 2010/11, The Rufford Foundation provided a grant of £2,000 to Wells for India.
Wells for India works with village communities in rural Rajasthan, supporting them to create sustainable access to water for drinking, farming, hygiene and sanitation. Rainwater harvesting, a simple and effective way to provide water in remote areas of the most water-deficient state in India, underpins our holistic approach to development.
The grant from The Rufford Foundation contributed to the creation or renewal of a range of structures for rainwater harvesting and soil and water conservation in the Thar desert and Aravalli hills regions of Rajasthan.
