In 2010/11, The Rufford Foundation provided a grant of £1,000 to React.
React (Rapid, Effective Assistance for Children with potentially Terminal illness) is a national charity working closely with medical and health care professionals to assist low-income families struggling with the costs of caring for a terminally ill child at home. Responding to individual requests for help by parents of life-limited children, funds awarded by The Rufford Foundation were used towards React’s project to provide educational and developmental items, such as specialist sensory toys and computer equipment. These items are unavailable from statutory sources but can encourage children living with life-limiting illnesses to interact and learn about the world around them.
